Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology is the discipline came into existence in the year 2016 with the inception of college. The deportment offering two courses for B.Sc. (Hons) Ag such as BICM101 and BICM300. In biochemistry, students get knowledge in cellular structural and functional units like carbohydrates, proteins, fats and their metabolism and nucleic acids. As a part of biotechnology, students get knowledge on plant tissue culture methods, recombinant DNA technology, plant transformation methods including Agrobacterium mediated transformation for crop improvement, PCR techniques and its applications and biotechnology regulations. As a part of food science students get aware on food branches like food biochemistry, food microbiology, food technology and nutrition for understanding the food physical, chemical and biological properties for processing, storage and preservation.
